Manchester United have reportedly ‘proposed’ an offer to sign the Barcelona star after learning of the significant ‘demand’ for the transfer.
During the summer transfer window, Man Utd invested heavily in overhauling their squad, signing Benjamin Sesko, Bryan Mbeumo, Matheus Cunha and Senne Lammens for a combined total of around £230 million.
The Red Devils have also balanced their books by offloading Marcus Rashford, Rasmus Hojlund, Alejandro Garnacho, Anthony and Jadon Sancho, but are still far from a challenge for co-owner INEO’s major trophy.
Head coach Ruben Amorim is under huge pressure as one of the favorites to become the next Premier League manager, so it remains to be seen whether he is the long-term answer.
What is clear is that United will need to make more significant signings in the upcoming transfer window, with Brighton’s Carlos Balaba moored as a top target in sight of a top-tier No.6.

Man Utd has also been sporadically linked with a bold move for Barcelona star Raphinha in recent months, with most of these reports coming from unreliable outlets in Spain.
Fichajes is one such example of a not-so-reliable Spanish outlet, with the website claiming that “the Red Devils have submitted offers ranging from €120 million to €150 million for the Barcelona winger.”
At the very least, these proposed bids are worth £102 million (€120 million), and the report also sheds light on Man UTD and Barcelona’s stance regarding this fantasy deal.
The report claims:
“Barcelona are demanding a minimum of 120 million euros for their star player. Meanwhile, sources close to Manchester United assure that this figure is not an obstacle if it is considered a strategic investment. The English club believes that signing Rafinha could make a difference in the rebuilding of the team.

“One of the important factors that can play in Barça’s favor is that just before the most intense rumors appeared, they renewed the player’s contract until June 2028.
More exits are possible for Man UTD in January, as Kobbie Mainoo has been heavily linked with departures after missing out on loan departures in the summer.
Mainoo has been a bit of a part-time player under Amorim, with journalist Sacha Tavolieri claiming he is still in “Napoli’s sights” and a deal could have been “concluded quickly”.
Tavolieri explains: “In advanced discussions with Manchester United at the end of the summer transfer window, Napoli remain in contact with Cobbey Mine’s entourage. Furthermore, the Partenopei are reportedly in pole position to land the promising English midfielder.
“The loan move is being considered as early as the January transfer window, giving him more playing time and continuing his development in a competitive environment. The Italian club hopes to conclude this deal quickly.”
