As everyone knows, Ange Postecoglou is under intense pressure at Nottingham Forest. However, in a hilarious turn of events, Sean Dyche is reportedly “waiting behind the scenes” even if he is fired.
Nottingham Forest are without a win in seven games under manager Postecoglou, who replaced popular head coach Nuno Espirito Santo after just three games this season.
Nuno had a falling out with Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis and sporting director Edu Gaspard, and the sacking of Nuno, who had done an excellent job in the dugout, was purely political.
The Portuguese coach took the club out of the relegation battle and into Europe in 18 months, and was replaced by the manager who led Europa League favorites Tottenham Hotspur to 17th place in the Premier League last season.
I’d be lying if I said I didn’t expect Marinakis to regret sacking Nuno and appointing Big Ange, but the Australian’s tenure has turned out to be far worse than anyone imagined.

Postecoglou, who lost to Arsenal in his first game as manager, oversaw a Carabao Cup loss to second-tier Swansea City, a Premier League draw with Burnley, defeats to Sunderland and Newcastle, a Europa League draw with Real Betis and, most recently, a 3-2 defeat at home to FC Midtjylland.
The hiring of Postecoglou was a puzzling decision at the time. Because his brand of football is all about attacking, attacking, attacking, whereas Nuno set up his team to be compact and deadly on the break.
There is nothing compact about how Forest are playing under Postecoglou, and Tricky Trees is certain to become his third manager of the season by November, as they next host Chelsea at home.
But who would Marinakis choose if Postecoglou was given the job? Having made such a drastic change from such an attack-minded boss, you would expect him to appoint someone with a similar, albeit more organized, philosophy.
Hmm…not yet.

According to the Telegraph, former Everton and Burnley manager Sean Dyche is the “most likely candidate” if Postecoglou is sacked.
Dyche has been out of work since being sacked by Everton in January, but has remained in the public eye, appearing on several podcasts.
He’s really leaning towards the theory that ‘the game’s over’ and ‘completely woke nonsense’, which may suggest he’s not making too much of a fuss about managing in the Premier League any time soon.
However, the report adds that Dyche lives in Nottingham and his long-term assistant Ian Woan – a Forest favorite who played at the club for 10 years – could help smooth the path.
What’s more, the 54-year-old is unemployed and will not require compensation for his appointment, unlike other candidates such as Fulham manager Marco Silva and former Forest manager Steve Cooper, now at Denmark side Brondby.
Dyche, who has “a wealth of experience in keeping teams in the Premier League”, could help steady the ship post-Postecoglou, with the former Everton boss said to be “waiting behind the scenes” as Marinakis “considers parting ways” with the current head coach.
Saturday’s game against Chelsea is certain to be Postecoglou’s last, even if Forest lose again, or even if they don’t win.
Surprisingly, Daish is the “first” person to take over, even though it makes no sense at all.
From the fact that his philosophy is similar to Nuno (but a serious downgrade for the Portuguese player) to the fact that he is the exact opposite of Postecoglou, appointing Diche would only show that Marinakis doesn’t know what he’s doing.
Nothing could make that up, guys. Stagger, stumble again…
