FC Barcelona “received an unprecedented offer” to sell Lamine Yamal to the Saudi Professional League due to his “frustration”, according to reports.
The 18-year-old is one of the best young footballers in the world and is making remarkable progress at Barcelona.
Yamal has already made 111 first-team appearances across all competitions for Hansi Flick’s side and was in contention for this year’s Ballon d’Or award.
Yamal has appeared in five games for Barcelona this season, scoring two goals and providing four assists. He is under contract until 2031 and is worth 200 million euros in Transfermarkt.
Barcelona are known to have financial problems, and Yamal has been linked with a possible departure in recent weeks. It has been suggested that Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain could be “willing to pay” a world record fee to sign the teenager.

PSG are also said to offer around €230 million to sign Yamal, but if Spanish outlet Fichajes is to be believed (which is not the case), they have been blown away by Al Hilal of the Saudi Pro League.
Al Hilal have been active in the transfer market in recent months, with plans to make a bold move for Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes in the summer.
They now reportedly have ‘made an offer of €400 million’ for Yamal, with Barcelona also reportedly ‘receiving this unprecedented offer’ and seem to be keeping an eye on Yamal, which could result in the ‘biggest transfer in history’.

The report explains:
“Saudi club Al Hilal has offered FC Barcelona 400 million euros for Lamine Yamal, far more than the player’s market value.” The offer is historic not only for its size, but also for its duration, giving the young Spanish talent seven seasons on offer.
“FC Barcelona reportedly initially rejected this offer and reaffirmed its intention to keep Lamine Yamal as a key player in its sporting project.” However, financial pressures and the player’s ambitions could complicate this position. Sources close to the dressing room claim that Lamine Yamal is unhappy with the public criticism of coach Hansi Flick.
Yamal is currently dealing with a groin problem and Flick accused Spain national team head coach Luis de la Fuente of failing to look after the teenager during his international duty.
Frick has since doubled down on these comments, stating:
“For me, this is over. I don’t feel bad about this situation. I know it from the other side. It’s not easy for me. It’s not easy for (de la Fuente) either.”
“I have to protect my players. This is why I said it a little louder than usual. I don’t regret this.”
“The important thing is that we manage this together: the players, the clubs, the Spanish Federation (RFEF). We have to manage this together.”
