One Manchester United move is very likely to be completed, and INEOS has ‘agreed’ another deal, according to reports.
Unsurprisingly, Manchester United have been very active in the transfer market in recent months, following a major overhaul of the squad in the summer.
This was necessitated after United endured a nightmare season in 2024-25, which saw them fail to win a trophy and finish 15th in the Premier League.
Co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his recruitment team have confirmed a major rebuild to better prepare United’s squad for manager Ruben Amorim’s 3-4-3 formation, but it remains to be seen whether this has worked as some issues from last year still plague the Red Devils.
Still, Man Utd have at least released a large amount of Deadwood, with Rasmus Hjøjlund, Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, Alejandro Garnacho and Anthony securing moves elsewhere.
After a decent debut season at Old Trafford, Hoylund suffered a dip in form as he struggled with basic movements and looked completely lacking in confidence. He and Joshua Zirkzee have only scored seven goals in the Premier League between them.

In the summer, following Benjamin Sesco’s move to Man United, Hojlund was deemed not to meet the requirements and it was decided that he would be allowed to move on loan to Serie A powerhouse Napoli.
Like many other players, Hojlund regained his form away from Manchester United, scoring four goals in six games for Napoli. He also contributed to five goals in four games for the Denmark national team in the World Cup qualifiers.
Hoylund’s loan move to Napoli includes an option to buy for around £38m, with transfer expert Fabrizio Romano revealing there is a “99 per cent chance” Antonio Conte’s side will sign him permanently next year.
Harry Maguire has played a small role this season and is in the final year of his contract, so there have been hints that he could leave Man United next year.

However, Football Insider reports that while Man United are keen to keep Maguire, the centre-back wants to remain at Old Trafford.
It has therefore been noted that he is likely to sign a new contract as both sides have “agreed” on his future.
The report claims:
“There have been claims that Maguire will leave Man United at the end of his current contract due to a lack of game time. However, sources say both the club and the player are keen to agree a new deal.
“Maguire is part of Amorim’s leadership group at Old Trafford and the Red Devils still feel he has something to offer going forward.”
