Manchester United could look to sign Mateo Letegui from Saudi Professional League side Al Qadosia in the next few years’ transfer window, according to reports.
There were rumors before the game against Sunderland that Manchester United could consider replacing Ruben Amorim during the international break if the result was poor.
But Amorim led the Red Devils to a 2-0 victory over the Black Cats at Old Trafford last weekend, seeing Man United move into the top half of the Premier League.
Amorim has been inconsistent in form and currently looks one worse off from the extra pressure, but the Manchester United head coach will face Liverpool at Anfield in his first game back after the international break.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe will be keen to rate Amorim after three years at Old Trafford, but the Portuguese’s record of 37 goals in 34 Premier League games is sure to ring alarm bells in the boardroom.
However, Manchester United are still struggling with just nine goals in their first seven games of the Premier League season, so they could support Amorim in January.

This amount is fine to avoid relegation, but for a club aiming to move up the table, the Red Devils need more goals in their team.
And now Spanish publication Ficajes claims Manchester United have “identified a more than interesting target in the Middle East” to give Benjamin Sesco a competitive advantage.
Manchester United are “keeping a close eye” on Retegui, who moved from Atalanta to Saudi Pro League side Al Qadosia last summer, adding him to their “list of candidates to strengthen their front line”.
The Spanish newspaper added: “Reports estimate that United could pay between €50m and €60m (around £44m to £52m) for him, a price that pales in comparison to what Al Qadsiah paid, but could be understandable if negotiated well.”

“English clubs view Retegui as an interesting player who can complement or compete with their current attacking options and his recent performances confirm this.
Retegui has scored three goals in four Saudi Pro League matches and has four goals and four assists in Italy’s last four World Cup qualifying matches.
Jean-Philippe Mateta is another striker who has been linked with Man United, with Fischages claiming the Red Devils have the France international “on their attacking radar”.
In another report, the site added: “Mateta looks like a strong replacement as United look to strengthen their frontline.” A player like Mbeumo lacks the potential to score consistently, making the club’s need for him more urgent.
“According to sources, Palace valued the player at around €50 million, opening the door to a possible departure.”
