WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump’s Administration prepares for Saudi crown prince’s visit to the United States Mohammed bin Salman Trump could become the first foreign leader to visit the United States as a state guest during his second term, according to people familiar with the plans.
U.S. officials with knowledge of the trip’s plans say work is underway to prepare a series of agreements that President Trump and the crown prince could sign or witness during the trip. The visit is tentatively scheduled for Nov. 17-19, but the timing and circumstances of the visit are subject to change, two people familiar with the planning said.
Those people and officials discussed the trip on condition of anonymity before it was announced. The White House did not respond to a request for comment, and the Saudi embassy declined to comment.
Details of the agreements to be signed were not immediately clear, but many are expected to be commercial and trade agreements based on the framework of the Strategic Economic Partnership, which President Trump signed with the Crown Prince when he was a Republican president.
