Family safety app Life360 is expanding into pet technology with the launch of a new tracking device, Pet GPS. Designed to attach to a collar or harness, the new device aims to provide peace of mind for pet owners by delivering real-time updates on their dog or cat’s location.
The launch of Pet GPS feels like a natural evolution for Life360, especially after acquiring tracking device company Tile in 2021. Since then, the company has integrated Tile’s item search capabilities into its app, including the ability to assign Tile trackers to pets.
Life360’s Pet GPS retails for $49.99, making it the most expensive product in the lineup. However, it comes with a variety of features that pet owners may find valuable.

Key features include geofencing (virtual perimeter alerts), escape alerts, and access to the Pet Finder network. Pet owners can set a safety zone and an escape alarm will be activated if the pet escapes.
Users can also alert nearby communities about lost pets. When issuing a lost pet alert, the app will share important information such as the pet’s image, name, breed, and emergency contact information with nearby members.
Life360 says its network is made up of more than 88 million members, providing users with a rich community to help find lost pets.

The pet tracker combines your phone, GPS, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth to provide the most accurate location, updating every 2 to 4 seconds when your pet is away from home.

Other useful features include a built-in light that can be activated through the app to help you find your pet in the dark. The device also features a chime sound feature, allowing owners to call their pets when needed, such as when they are taking too long to relieve themselves in the garden or hiding under the couch.
Life360 says the device is IP68 rated, waterproof, dustproof, and resistant to pet bites.
The device comes with a charger that provides up to 14 days of battery life. There’s also a “Bluetooth Reserve Mode” that extends battery life and maintains your pet’s location for up to 6 months.
Life360’s pet GPS comes in three colors: pink, navy, and black. Available in the US, UK, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand on Life360.com. To access all features, users need a Gold ($14.99 per month) or Platinum ($24.99 per month) subscription.
