Former Liverpool midfielder Jordan Henderson has insisted it is “only a matter of time” before the Reds start winning amid pressure on Arne Slott.
The Reds lost 3-2 to Brentford on Saturday, their fourth straight Premier League defeat and fifth in six games in all competitions.
Dango Ouattara and Kevin Shade scored twice for the Bees, before Milos Kerkes pulled one back for Liverpool just before half-time.
Igor Thiago converted a penalty with an hour remaining to make it 3-1 for Brentford, and Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah made things interesting in the final stages with a goal in the 89th minute.
Liverpool have fallen to sixth place in the Premier League, surpassed by arch-rivals Manchester United on Saturday.
But former Reds midfielder Henderson, who now plays for Brentford, insisted Liverpool are set for a good run in the near future after Slott was subjected to chants of “fired in the morning” in the home section.

Henderson told TNT Sports:
“Liverpool are a world-class team with world-class players. Sometimes you have to defend and we did that.
“When we defended together, when we stayed calm on the ball and sometimes instead of just kicking it forward, we tried to put long balls in behind, like Dams (Mikel Damsgaard) scored the second goal for Kev (Schade),[Igor]Thiago was a threat all night and in fairness he has been all season.”
“Overall, I think it was a really good performance and we deserved the win in the end.”

England international Henderson, who played 492 games in 12 seasons for Liverpool, added: “If you look across the pitch, there’s not much to do. They’re all quality players. I don’t see any weaknesses in the team.”
“I know there have been some not-so-good results for them recently, but for me they are still a top player, a top, top team and it’s only a matter of time before they get into a rhythm and get better.”
“I think there’s a reason why they haven’t reached the heights from last season, but they’re still a world-class team and they’ve got world-class players everywhere you look on the pitch, so it’s always going to be difficult, but I thought the players dug deep and came together and caused us some problems on the counter.”
Asked if it was strange playing against Liverpool, Henderson added:
“It will always be deep in our hearts forever. I was there for a very long time. It was 12 years of my life.
“It was a little weird, but that being said, I knew that when the whistle went, it would be business as usual and I would be focused and ready and in the right frame of mind, which I was.”
