Manchester United legend Owen Hargreaves said he “loves” summer signing Matheus Cunha after the Red Devils beat Brighton 4-2 on Saturday.
The Red Devils have been flexing their muscles in recent weeks, and this weekend’s win against the Seagulls extended their winning streak to three straight.
Man United achieved back-to-back wins for the first time in manager Ruben Amorim’s era last weekend, after struggling to find consistency against arch-rivals Liverpool earlier in the season.
Hargreaves believes Manchester United have been unlucky in some games this season, citing the Arsenal defeat as an example, and was delighted to see Cunha score in the win over Brighton at the weekend.
Former Man United midfielder Hargreaves told Premier League Productions:
“If you think back to the first game of the season against Arsenal, it was a good performance but somehow we lost the game. The result is the most important thing.”

“When you have a player like Matheus Cunha who has a real personality…I really love the way he talks and plays.
“Cunha, Mbeumo and Bruno Fernandes are reliable players.
“Manchester United are scoring goals and looking dangerous. You could say they have conceded more goals than they would like. 14 goals conceded after nine games is too many.
“But I like the look of the team and the direction they’re going. Goalkeeper (Senne Ramens) has also made a change.”

Amorim insisted Man United would only improve after hearing the “joy” of their supporters inside Old Trafford after their recent win.
“It feels good. It’s important to listen to the crowd and the joy. We need to enjoy it today, but then we need to prepare for the next game,” the Manchester United manager told reporters.
“Everything can change quickly, but if we can have that feeling and approach our work with confidence, we will be a better team.”
Amorim added of Cunha: “He was suffering (before). He can hide it, but I understood it.”
“The way he reacted at Anfield and how he played with and without the ball today was no surprise and that will be huge for us.
“He needs to score goals. He suffers when he doesn’t score goals, but he is a top player who decides the games.”
