Arsenal have made their stance on a transfer clear, with Martin Odegaard a top target for Barcelona, according to reports.
Mikel Arteta’s side have enjoyed a stellar season, with Arsenal’s comfortable win over Burnley at Turf Moor on Saturday making it their fifth successive Premier League win.
With Liverpool collapsing at the top of the Premier League, Arsenal have built a six-point lead at the top of the table, with nearest rivals Man City currently in second place.
Arsenal have suffered a blow in recent weeks with the news that Odegaard suffered a medial collateral ligament injury at the end of October.
It is unlikely to be a long-term injury, with Spanish website Ficajes claiming that Barcelona have made the Arsenal midfielder a top target for the next few transfer windows.
Despite the Catalan giants showing interest in the Norwegian international, Arsenal have “made it clear they have no intention of considering an offer”.

The report added: “FC Barcelona’s interest in Martin Odegaard is not new.” The Blaugrana are looking to strengthen their attacking midfield and have identified the Arsenal player as a strong option for the 2026 transfer window. However, the Catalan club will have to contend with the fact that Arsenal are not open to talks for him to leave. Moreover, Barça’s financial situation limits the room for maneuver to make a move of this scale happen.
“Arsenal, for its part, remains convinced that Odegaard is an important asset. According to club sources, a sale of the attacking midfielder is not on the table and they are prioritizing a contract renewal rather than considering a move. In this scenario, Barça would have to explore other options if they do not wish to pursue an unachievable goal.”
Asked about his timetable for a return from injury, Odegaard said last week: “It’s difficult with this kind of injury, especially because it depends on what happens with my left foot when I get back on the pitch.”

“It’s hard to put a date on it right now because it can be pretty painful at times when I start passing the ball, shooting and everything else.
“It’s going very well. It’s going very well, but we’ll know more or less once we start getting back on the pitch. If it goes really well, it could be sooner.”
