Tottenham Hotspur are “preparing” to make an offer and have already chosen their “top priority” for this winter transfer window, according to reports.
Naturally, Spurs were very active in the summer transfer window, trying to build a stronger squad for the Champions League season.
New head coach Thomas Frank was appointed to replace Ange Postecoglou in the summer and was backed by the club’s leadership, with around £185m spent on signing several promising players.
Frank changed Tottenham’s style, making it harder to win than under Postecoglou, and this improved their results. They currently sit sixth in the Premier League table, but are unbeaten in their four group games in the Champions League.
However, Spurs and Franks have not been without criticism as they have struggled at home this season and lacked a goal threat in certain games.

This means it wouldn’t be surprising if Tottenham sign one or two attackers in the winter, with recent reports claiming that Tottenham’s players have made it clear internally that they are “desperate” to strengthen in this department.
Spanish outlet Fichajes has now reported that Spurs are “preparing” an “offer” worth around £53 million (60 million euros) for Real Sociedad winger Takefumi Kubo. This is the value of his current release clause.
The 24-year-old has enjoyed a stellar spell with Real Sociedad over the past few seasons and has been linked with sporadic moves to multiple Premier League teams.
Spurs have been frequently mentioned as a potential transfer destination, with the newspaper claiming that they are “determined to make an offer” this winter and “go all in.”

The report claims:
“Tottenham have identified Takefusa Kubo as their top attacking priority in the upcoming transfer window. English clubs are looking for players who can offer attacking flair, creativity and goals, and the Japanese winger perfectly fits the profile the manager is looking for.
“After several failures in previous campaigns, Tottenham appear determined to go all out for the Real Sociedad player. The €60 million figure is in line with his release clause and means the Basque club has no room to negotiate a lower price. The London club are confident of closing the deal quickly and incorporating the Japanese player as an important part of their new sporting project.”
Spurs are also said to be targeting several Brentford players who worked with Frank at the London club.
Nathan Collins has been mooted as a target after Spurs failed to sign Brian Mbeumo in the summer, but Igor Thiago is another option.
The striker has scored six goals in 10 Premier League appearances this season, and reports in South America suggest that north London clubs Aston Villa and Newcastle United are in contact over signing him for next year.
