Grand Theft Auto VI, one of the most anticipated video games of all time, has been delayed yet again. This time, the offer is until November 19, 2026.
The game was originally scheduled for release in fall 2025, but was pushed back to May 2026. On Thursday, Rockstar Games announced that the development team will need an additional six months.
“We apologize for adding more time to what has been a long wait, but these additional months will allow us to finish the game at the level of polish you have come to expect and deserve,” Rockstar Games said in a statement.
Grand Theft Auto VI is the sequel to Grand Theft Auto V released in 2013. According to Guinness World Records, the game became the fastest entertainment product to reach $1 billion in sales, reaching that milestone just three days after its release. Fans have been eagerly awaiting the next installment in the series, and when Rockstar Games released the game’s trailer in December 2023, it broke the record for the most YouTube views (excluding music videos) in 24 hours.
Rockstar Games has not provided additional details regarding the delay. Last week, the company fired 30 to 40 employees for allegedly sharing sensitive information on a Discord server.
