Manchester United are one of the clubs reportedly targeting the Ivorian wing-back, with an offer ‘expected’ in January, but Amad Diallo need not worry about his compatriot.
United’s main weakness this season has been their defense. They are well placed in seventh place in the Premier League, just two points behind third-placed Chelsea.
However, only the bottom five teams have conceded more than 18 goals. If they can strengthen themselves at the back, they will be in an even better position.
According to Saba, United are one of the clubs interested in signing Galatasaray wing-back Wilfried Singo.
According to reports, the Red Devils, Liverpool and Arsenal have decided to keep an eye on Shingo following his performance against Ajax in the Champions League.
Shingo played 90 minutes as a right-back and earned a Sofascore rating of 7.0 in the 3-0 win.
He completed an important pass, created one big chance, completed 92 per cent of his passes correctly, had 73 touches on the ball and only missed one, won two of three tackles, made three interceptions, one clearance and six recoveries.
It is thought that an offer for the Ivorian will be received in January. He has a release clause of €60m (£52.9m).
There is no indication as to which of the interested teams might make an offer, but if Shingo were to sign for United, he would not be an upgrade over his international team-mate right wing-back Amad.
Although many of his stats cannot be compared to Amad on FBRef, the publicly available data paints a good picture of the United man.
On the front foot, Amad has taken 15 shots to Shingo’s only shot, scoring one goal and providing two assists, while Shingo is yet to score but has one assist this season.

Amad has also logged far more minutes than Shingo so far this season, suggesting he is a more valuable asset to the current squad than his compatriot.
Although Shingo has committed more fouls (4 vs. 6), he has committed far fewer fouls, 14 for Amad to 1 for Shingo, and the United man has made nine crosses this season compared to only two for Shingo, with Amad looking to double the amount of tackles.
Shingo won in interceptions (5 compared to 4), but that’s the only metric available that he won in league football.
If United were to sign him, they would be making a mistake replacing Amad. Shingo can also play as a centre-back, but he is not currently boasting any defensive laurels.
