Fabrizio Romano has reiterated that Manchester United will allow Ruben Amorim to terminate the contract he signed under Erik ten Hag.
United released several players in the summer who did not meet the requirements. Anthony was sold after a disastrous period, as was Alejandro Garnacho, while Jadon Sancho, Marcus Rashford and Rasmus Hojlund were all loaned out.
The two former loan players are likely to leave the club permanently by the summer.
And Amorim’s weight loss will continue. Tyrell Malasia has been essentially missing for the past few seasons and was loaned out last season.
He has not played at all since his return and Romano revealed in October that the left-back will be allowed to leave in 2026.
He said: “Tyrell Malasia has no intention of signing a new contract with Man United and is 100 per cent certain he will leave the club in 2026 in any case, despite returning to training with Manchester United’s first team after a crazy period where he had several chances.”
Romano reiterated that, telling GIVEMESPORT: “The most likely scenario at the moment is a farewell. This remains the club’s intention in the future.”
It would be ideal for Amorim to take the contract of his predecessor Ten Hag (whom he clearly doesn’t value) off the books.

He has Patrick Dorg, Diogo Dalot and Diego Leon, who can play on the left, but he also has Luke Shaw, who currently plays mainly in the centre. And the Portuguese manager is also said to be ready for one of United’s younger players to step up.
Former United scout Piotr Sadowski said 18-year-old Harry Amass, currently on loan at Sheffield Wednesday, could have an impact.
He said: “United are being cautious about signing young players at the moment. Amorim was supposed to be in charge of that, but the results have not been good so he wants to bring in players who can start immediately.”
“Whether he has players to choose from in the backroom is another matter. In my opinion, Harry Amass is the only player currently capable of breaking into United’s first team after returning from his loan spell.”
It remains to be seen whether Amas will be given many opportunities in United’s first team. He has only made seven top-flight appearances for the club, but was impressive in Wednesday’s match and reports suggest he will stay until the end of the season.
