Antoine Semenyo is aiming to win the Champions League this season and has reportedly told Bournemouth that Liverpool are his “first choice” for a move in January.
The Reds have had a poor season by their standards, with Arne Slott’s defending champions losing five of their first 11 Premier League games.
Things looked rosy at the start of the season as Liverpool won each of their opening five games, but they have since lost five of their last six Premier League games.
Scoring isn’t really a problem for the Reds, but Mohamed Salah and some of his fellow forwards haven’t been in their best form so far this season.
However, there are rumors that Liverpool could enter the transfer market to bring in a new winger and a centre-back to strengthen their weak defence.
Reports last week said the Reds were “preparing an offer of €80 million” to sign Semenyo, who can play on either wing, from Bournemouth in the January transfer window.

However, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano last week insisted it was “very unlikely” Bournemouth would allow Semenyo to leave midway through the season.
Romano said on GiveMeSport’s Market Madness podcast:
“I think Liverpool will be very quiet in January. It might be different in the summer.
“I still want to respect Bournemouth and let the players enjoy themselves. It’s only November and they don’t plan on him leaving in January.”
“It’s a very interesting situation because there’s a lot of interest in this player and there’s a release clause, but I think it’s in the summer. As for January, it’s very unlikely.”

Amid growing interest in Semenyo, some claim he is “angry” over reports that he “asked to leave” Bournemouth in the January transfer window.
Now, the same authoritative X article, made up of “five elite reporters” that broke the news that Semenho wanted to leave in the winter, claimed that Liverpool were the “first choice” for Semenho, who believes he can win the Champions League at Anfield this season.
The account reads: “Exclusive. Antoine Semenyo 𝐋𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐩𝐨𝐨𝐥 𝐢𝐬 𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐨𝐩 against Bournemouth 𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐢𝐜𝐞 revealed 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐚. 𝐦𝐨𝐯𝐞. Apparently, he has been vocal about his ambitions this season.
