One pundit has explained why he believes Manchester United need to sign replacements for two of their star players, but there are five “positive players” under manager Ruben Amorim.
The Red Devils have made progress under head coach Amorim this season, going unbeaten in five games in the Premier League. Currently, there is only one point difference between them and the Champions League places.
Manchester United slumped to the bottom last season as the team failed to adapt to Amorim’s preferred 3-4-3 formation, but in the summer they gathered enough talent and built a well-equipped team.
Benjamin Sesco has faced some criticism as he settles into life in the Premier League, but Sanne Lamence, Brian Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha have all made a big impact in recent weeks.
However, Manchester United still have areas to improve if they are to win the Premier League or Champions League in the coming years, and are prioritizing signing a central midfielder.
Former Liverpool star Don Hutchinson believes Man United are on track but has recommended replacing Amad Diallo and Diogo Dalot.
“I think the win at Anfield helped them a lot because you can’t underestimate when you lose a game and you get beaten by Grimsby or you lose to Brentford,” Hutchinson said in an interview with sportscasting.com.

“It’s a bit doom and gloom, like 2 wins and 1 loss. It helps because the league table is fast.
“Last weekend against Tottenham, if we won, we would have moved into second place, which is huge psychologically. We are playing pretty well so we are in a decent space.
“The job is not done yet, but in terms of the league position, if we win we will move up to second place and qualify for the Champions League.
“Then he goes to Anfield and beats Liverpool. That puts him in a good frame of mind. In terms of personnel, his system is still not convinced. I don’t think Dalot is a left wing-back. I don’t think Amad is a right wing-back.”

But Hutchinson believes five players have been “positive” for Man United this season.
“There are a lot of questions I ask from a tactical standpoint,” Hutchinson added.
“I’m a bit perplexed, but I have to say how well Mason Mount is doing, how well Cunha, Mbeumo, Bruno Fernandes and Casemiro are doing.
“If you go back to last season, I still think there’s a group of players that I can’t name other than Bruno at Man United who have developed under Amorim.
“Now we’re starting to see three, four, five cases. So that’s a positive thing.”
