Man United may have to move on to other targets as summer dream target Vinicius Junior is set to sign a new contract with Real Madrid, according to reports.
The Brazil international has been linked with a move away from the Bernabeu following reports of tensions with Real Madrid head coach Xabi Alonso.
As well as speculation about his relationship with the Spaniard, there are also claims that he wants a new contract with Real Madrid for the same amount as French superstar Kylian Mbappé, leading to an impasse in new contract negotiations.
Vinicius Junior, who has scored five goals and provided four assists in 16 games in all competitions, was replaced by Alonso in last month’s El Clasico against Barcelona.
As he left the field, he reportedly said, “Me? Coach? Coach, me? It’s always me. I’m leaving the team. I’d better quit.”
He issued an apology a few days later, sparking rumors that Real Madrid are unlikely to start next season with Vinicius Junior still at the club.

Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri revealed earlier this month that contract negotiations with Real Madrid had “completely broken down” and that “there is now a possibility of a sale”.
“There is great turmoil in Madrid,” Tavolieri wrote on the Swiss Sky website. According to multiple reliable sources, Real Madrid have set Vinicius Junior’s starting price at 150 million euros after contract extension talks completely broke down. Tensions between the Brazil international and coach Xabi Alonso are so high that a source close to Real Madrid’s dressing room said: “It’s very difficult to imagine Vinicius staying at Madrid next season.”
“Real Madrid are aware of the growing interest in their valuable asset and are preparing for a sale as early as the summer of 2026. According to our sources, the most likely scenario is an offer from the Saudi government.”The Brazilian will then choose his preferred club within the Saudi Professional League. Some Premier League clubs, including Manchester City, are aware that this could involve huge budgets and are watching from afar, not wanting to get involved in the issue. to be continued… ‘

This led to Man United being linked with a €200m summer move on Friday, with one of the Red Devils’ sponsors claiming they were willing to “cover the cost” of the record-breaking deal.
However, Spanish newspaper AS (via Tribuna) have been told by sources close to the club that a deal for a new contract between Real Madrid and Vinicius Junior has “already been finalized”.
“They spoke recently. A solution is moving towards a final agreement,” a source told a Spanish news agency.
