Chipolo, the manufacturer of item tracking devices that compete with AirTags, began the latest addition to its lineup of rechargeable products on Wednesday, including a colorful loop tracker and an updated version of the slim Chipolo card.
The latter is designed to slip into your wallet and has a matte surface with a modest charcoal texture that makes it easy to blend in with other credit cards. On the other hand, loops can be attached to everyday items such as keys, wallets, and backpacks, and come in six colors: navy, mint, honey, coral, charcoal and chalk.

Unlike AirTags, which relies on a replaceable CR2032 lithium 3V coin battery, Chipolo’s new device has a rechargeable battery. The company claims the battery lasts around six months before another charge is required. You can use any USB-C cord to charge the loop, but the card can be charged using a QI wireless charger.
Some consumers may prefer to simply replace the battery when it dies, while others may prefer to buy the device with a rechargeable battery to reduce e-waste. That’s why it’s important that Apple has market competition in the tracker space, rather than allowing Apple to dominate every design with the best designs. Furthermore, eco-conscious shoppers should note that Chipolo says its products are made from at least 50% consumer recycled plastic.

Both new devices feature an extended Bluetooth range of 400 feet (120 m) so you can easily find items that have been left behind nearby. If you’re missing items, you can search using your phone via the Chipolo Companion app. This is because Chipolo works with both My Find My on Apple devices and the search hub on Android devices. The ring is loud, reaching up to 110 dB on the card and the loop reaches up to 125 dB. If your phone is missing, you can double-compress the tracker itself.
The Chipolo app also allows you to configure other features such as out-of-range alerts for Android, the ability to change ringtones and adjust the volume. Now is a new ring and blink option that will flash your device when lost in the dark.

Both devices are waterproof and dusty, with an IP67 rating. This means they can be immersed in up to 1 meter of freshwater for up to 30 minutes, making them impermeable for small particles.
