Paul Mason urges Manchester United to fix the goalkeeper issue before the transfer window closes, warning that Altai Bay Indeal has already sacrificed points.
The Turkish International mistake presented Arsenal with the goal of victory at Old Trafford, and Mason believes the issue is too serious for United to ignore.
“In football, clubs rarely win the World Cup without a league title, the Champions League, the Euro or a solid goalkeeper,” he told Sky Sports.
“You have to have a good goalkeeper because they save your points. David Raya scored Arsenal points on Sunday, and Allison Becker is doing it continuously for Liverpool and Edason.
“Altay Bayindir already lost a Man UTD point with that error against Arsenal. It was a big mistake and, in the end, a serious mistake.
“We can’t stress how important the top goalkeeper is to the football club. UTD must respond before the transfer window closes.”
Former Crystal Palace striker Clinton Morrison reiterated the views of BBC Radio 5 Live Sport.
“Manchester United have problems,” he said.
“There are rumours of Villa Keeper Emiliano Martinez. Gianluigi Don Narma is now available. If united, I will win the best goalkeeper.
“Andre Onana also made some big mistakes last season. The goalkeeper is the last line of defense, and they can’t afford to make that kind of mistake.”
Despite the error, Merson wasn’t completely down to United’s overall display against Gunners. He believes there will be some aggressive, aggressive, even if the game is ultimately defeated.

“That error aside, Man Utd was fine against Arsenal,” he said. “I was impressed with Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo, but there is still a lot to work on to improve as a cohesive unit.
“I really like Matteus Cunya as a player. He’s off the cuff as a player. He’s really a handful for the opposition team. Fit and fired Benjamin Sesco and they definitely cause a lot of team problems, but there’s still a lot to solve for Reuben Amorim.”
Merson believes Amorim’s part has shown quality efforts and flashes, but he sees warning signs if no major improvements are made in the coming weeks.
“They played to Arsenal as they could, but they still lost the game,” he added. “That’s not the best sign for the team.
“I can’t see them not in the middle of the table. At the end of the season there will be further improvements before the transfer window closes.”
