Reports say Manchester United have already selected a “major candidate” to replace fire head coach Reuben Amorim.
With few signs of improvement under Amorim, Man UTD’s struggle from last season has been carried over to this campaign.
Under Amorim, the Red Devils retreated in 2024/25, winning a new low and 15th in the Premier League in the trophyless season.
This season, Mann UTD has already been knocked out of the Carabao Cup by League 2 side Grimsby Town, leading to a loss in the Premier League against Mann City and Arsenal to sit in 11th place after five games.
So Amorim is one of his favourites to become the next Premier League manager, under pressure following his astonishing 2-1 victory over Chelsea last weekend.

Man Utd needs to build momentum desperately and Amorim will be under great pressure if he doesn’t beat Brentford on Saturday afternoon.
In the meantime, Man UTD has linked several potential alternatives with reports from TeamTalk’s Journalist Fraser Fletcher. They claim that AFC Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola has settled as a “major candidate” and “top choice” to replace Amorim.
The report claims Iraora is gaining attention from Chelsea and Manchester City after the Spurs opposed his move in the summer.
Man Utd is said to be in favor of Iraola because of his “tactical insight and ability to maximize limited resources.”

It will be added to the report:
“The United hierarchy sees him as an elite coach who can navigate the strong pressure to manage the global giant. His ability to implement a cohesive system at Bournemouth, coupled with his successful development of young talent, is sure to be ready to step up as United bosses.
“Manchester City is also tracking Iraola as Pep Guardiola’s successor, and it is estimated that his departure will be on the horizon in the coming seasons. Meanwhile, TeamTalk understands that in Chelsea, Iraola is on the radar as contingency plans should unravel Enza Maresca’s tenure.
Nevertheless, a recent report from football insider journalist Pete O’Rourke revealed that Bournemouth is “doing everything” to keep Iraora.
“If Man United decides to say goodbye to Amorim, I think they’ll be looking for the perfect guy for their job,” O’Rourke told Soccer Insider.
“Manchester United’s work is appealing to us that regardless of current circumstances, we are still a huge club, a huge fan base, and clearly there was financial support for our managers in the transfer market.
“Iraaora has done an incredible job at Bournemouth because he lost most of his top players this summer, but still really thriving in Bournemouth.
“Obviously, Bournemouth is trying to bring him into a new contract.
“They don’t want to lose him, especially if it’s Man United, he doesn’t want to lose him to his Premier League rivals, so he agrees to the terms and does everything he can to convince him to stay.
“But look for United for now, they’re still completely behind Amorim and they hope he can turn things around.”
