Man United manager Ruben Amorim wants the Red Devils to invest in Inter Milan defender Federico Dimarco, according to reports.
The Red Devils have once again shown their instability so far this season, with three wins, three losses and one draw in their opening seven Premier League games.
Amorim currently has just 37 points in 34 Premier League games and the pressure on his job is now just one defeat away for the Manchester United head coach.
A 2-0 win over Sunderland before the international break took the immediate pressure off and lifted Manchester United to a lofty 10th place in the Premier League table.
Manchester United last won at Anfield in the Premier League on January 17, 2016, when Wayne Rooney scored the only goal of the game in a 1-0 win, but Amorim is hoping for a result that will lead to his expulsion from the board.
If Amorim sticks around until the January transfer window – which Man United co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe seems confident of – then Spanish website Fichajes claim the Portuguese head coach has “requested” one from the Red Devils hierarchy.

Amorim is “clear about the additions the Red Devils need in the winter transfer window”, with Inter Milan left-back DiMarco “emerging as a priority target” for the Man United manager.
The Italy international is “an attractive player for clubs looking for quality, experience and a low risk of a controversial transfer,” Amorim said. “We believe the player fits perfectly into his preferred set-up, especially in a two-wing-back system where Dimarco’s attacking talent is invaluable.”
Inter Milan said: “Given that Dimarco is not always involved in the plans of the club’s current manager, he would be open to negotiating his departure in January if a suitable offer is made.”
The report added: “Inter Milan are not cutting corners.” The club took notice of the player’s excellent start to the season and began negotiations for a new contract.
However, the situation is complicated by the possibility of Federico Dimarco leaving for Manchester United. Remaining at Inter would mean a better contract, a better salary and certainty that he will remain a key player, which the player seems to want.

Koby Mainu is one of the players who could leave Old Trafford in the winter transfer window as Amorim has not given him a start in the Premier League this season.
The Man United midfielder could leave Old Trafford on loan in January unless his playing time increases in the coming months.
Giving an update on Mainu’s situation, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano said on his YouTube channel: “Certainly, the situation will be re-evaluated in the coming months. At the moment Coby is not causing any problems.”
“He’s training at his best and doing his best for Man United. But he’s not a regular starter yet. Coby wants to play. That hasn’t changed since August. In August, Man United said no, you stay here, there’s no chance of a loan. He’s not a regular starter yet.
“Coby only wanted a loan, never a permanent transfer. It’s only October, so we’ll know in January. If he arrives in November, at the end of December, and Koby hasn’t played regularly yet, the Koby Mainou situation could become a story that continues again in the January transfer window.”
