Reuben Amorim defended Altai Bayindeal after seeing his mistake lose to Arsenal on Sunday, claiming he was “pleased with the three goalkeepers” so he could use it at his free time at Manchester United.
Bayindir fled the wings into the swinging corner of Declan Rice ahead of Andre Onana of Old Trafford, and presented Riccardo Calafiori with the easiest chance to score on the header at the Gunners back post.
Roy Keene has urged Turkish International to use “violence” to reach the ball before attacking players, and Amorim has acknowledged that his players, including Bay Indir, need to match enemy attacks from the set pieces.

“You are allowed to do a lot in the corner. We need to do the same,” Amorim said when asked if he was disappointed with the goal. “If you touch it like that, the goalkeeper will have to use his hands to catch the ball, not push the player.
“It’s the rule, it’s allowed and you have to do the same thing. No (I’m not saying he should have acted differently) I’m saying you chose to push the player or get the ball.
“That’s what I felt when I saw the play, but once again, we need to do the same.”
When it was suggested that Bayindir was negligent, Amorim responded:
And when a reporter reminded him of Tottenham last season, Amorim replied:
“You don’t remember the game, I remember the game. Altay couldn’t believe it in that game. I’m thinking of putting everything in (the goalkeeper) and putting everything in. I’ll choose Altay.”

Amorim was then asked about his decision not to include Onana in the team after Cameroon International was No. 1 last season.
Amorim said:
“Tom and Altai, they did a very good job during the preseason.”
United have been linked to many goalkeepers this summer, with the decision that Gianluigi Donnaruma to leave Paris Saint-Germain will lead to a proposal that he should be targeted.
He pushed forward whether he was happy with his current goalkeeping options and whether the club would need to sign another. Amorim continued. “We have proven today that we can win a Premier League game.
“I’m happy with the players. I’m happy with the three goalkeepers.”
