Manchester United are “monitoring” a number six target on the left wing as a new midfielder is a “priority” for the Premier League giants, according to reports.
The Red Devils have had a positive summer, spending around £230m to completely revamp their attacking line-up by signing Benjamin Sesco, Brian Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha, and signing Sene Lamence as number one goalkeeper to replace Andre Onana.
The venture has helped Man United grow under head coach Ruben Amorim at the start of this season, with the club currently on a five-game unbeaten run in the Premier League.
With this form, the Red Devils will be in the race to qualify for the Champions League for next season, and they are certainly on track under coach Amorim.
However, Man United will need to improve further over the next few transfer windows if they are to challenge for the Premier League or Champions League in the coming years.

Manchester United are still lacking in certain positions, particularly in midfield, as they desperately need a top-class number six to replace Casemiro in the long term.
United had targeted Carlos Baleva in the summer, but the Brighton standout cost a £100m transfer fee after signing Sesco, Mbeumo, Cunha and Lamence.
Valeva reportedly remains on the radar, with Crystal Palace’s Adam Wharton and Nottingham Forest’s Elliott Anderson also on the radar.
Manchester United clearly want to sign one of these players in January, but this could prove difficult as his current club is difficult for INEOS.

This could force Man United to look for another solution, with the Daily Mail claiming that “Wolves star Joao Gomez is also being monitored”.
United are said to be “prioritizing the acquisition of a new No. 6”, adding: “We would like to sign a new midfielder before the World Cup to avoid an increase in the price of individual targets if they perform well in the competition and may need to consider cheaper emerging targets.”
Atletico Madrid’s Conor Gallagher is also said to be a candidate. The report adds:
“A January deal cannot be ruled out and Gallagher could be an option on loan with a view to a £45m summer move.”The 25-year-old is happy in Spain but has appeared off the bench in 12 of Atletico’s 16 games this season and is keen to play more in the lead-up to the World Cup.
“The January deal will also allow United to consider a move for Koby Mainu, who remains on loan after his request to move to Napoli was rejected last summer.”
