Andre Onana’s reward for being a goalkeeping flop for Manchester United was a Turkish league title fight, doubled his wages.
Cameroon’s final match in the United Shirt could be a humiliating Carabao Cup defeat to Grimsby after securing an overseason loan move to Turkish club Trabzons Pose.
According to the Daily Mail, Onana not only will Trabzonspor parachutes in the title challenge unbeaten in the first four games, leaving two points to leader Galatasaray, but will double his wages during the season in Turkey.
Transfer journalist Ben Jacobs also reported that “Onana will earn more than UTD due to the sign-on and bonuses provided by Trabzonspor.”
He also gets the honor of playing alongside former Manchester City defender Stephen Savik to play for the club that lost his first team goalkeeper (who only admitted once in four games) to Galatasaray.
Onana has been heavily criticised by United since the £472 million move two years ago and is very pleased that it has been in the spotlight at Old Trafford. He was expected to stay and fight for his location upon the arrival of £227.7 million Keeper Senne Lammens from Antwerp.
However, he can hardly blame him for escaping the cold of northwest England and choosing to double his wages in Turkey.
United will not receive merging materials for Onana’s movements. Trabzonspoll has not agreed to the fee if he wants to sign him forever next summer.

Old Trafford boss Reuben Amorim has been caught up in Onana’s criticism after his defeat to Grimsby, saying, “When you play against a team in the fourth division with respect, it’s not the goalkeeper, it’s all about it.”
“We’re a great man who’s been working hard to get into the world,” said Nedem Onuoha, former Manchester City and Queens Park Rangers defender at ESPN FC.
“Then, coming to United and not leaving any kind of heritage is very disappointing from his point of view, and when a replacement comes at Lammen, it is difficult.
“You replaced this with a new manager early, and I know why. We can see that we can see confidence that is being drained and confidence that managers lose faith in their potential as goalkeeper.
“When he first came, we all thought we would help him unite in their buildup, but he was there so we didn’t see it.
“He would have enjoyed the year he was helping United take the next level, but instead he was on the list of goalkeepers, who were parodying United.”
