Angel Studios has dated three films — Sketch, newly unveiled WW2 resistance film Truth & Treason and Zero A.D. — and highlighted the rest of its 2025 slate, the most ambitious for the young faith-based distributor behind 2023 box office hit The Sound Of Freedom, which grossed $184 million U.S. and $250 million globally.

Angel’s 11 releases over the past two years have grossed over $360 million.

“At CinemaCon 2025, we unveiled the most ambitious and cinematic slate in Angel Studios’ history. There are no greater partners than the dedicated exhibitors who bring these stories to life on the big screen. We are all in on theatrical — bullish on the big screen, unwavering in our commitment to the theatrical window, and firm believers in the power of the shared moviegoing experience,” said Brandon Purdie, EVP and Head of Theatrical Distribution.

Angel said today that TIFF-premiering Sketch, written and directed by Seth Worley in his feature film debut, will hit theaters on August 5. Still reeling from the unexpected loss of his wife, a single dad navigates uncharted territory when his daughter’s comically dark, scribbled drawings begin to come to life and wreak havoc on their small town. Truth & Treason will release in theaters October 17. Helmuth Hüebener. ZERO A.D. will arrive in theaters December 19. Originally announced with the working title Bethlehem, Angel is calling ZERO A.D. — by Sound Of Freedom director Alejandro Monteverde — its most ambitious film yet, “an epic that demands to be experienced on the big screen.” Synopsis: Before kings and empires feared him, a tyrant sought to erase him. A newborn child ignites a prophetic war. A ruthless prince seeks to crush the prophecy that threatens his father’s rule.  And an unlikely mother is forced into the center of a battle between power and destiny. This is the untold origin of a revolution—where faith is tested, courage is forged, and the forces of darkness fight to extinguish the light.

The studio highlighted a kids-go-free campaign for its upcoming animated The King Of Kings opening April 11 with the purchase of one adult ticket. Starring Kenneth Branaugh, Uma Thurman, Pierce Brosnan, Mark Hamill, Roman Griffith Davis, Forrest Whitaker, Ben Kingsley and Oscar Isaac.

Synopsis: A father, Charles Dickens, tells his son the greatest story ever told, and what begins as a bedtime tale becomes a life-changing journey. Through vivid imagination, the boy walks alongside Jesus, witnessing His miracles, facing His trials, and understanding His ultimate sacrifice. The King of Kings invites us to rediscover the enduring power of hope, love, and redemption through the eyes of a child.

And next month it debuts The Last Rodeo, written and directed by Jon Avnet, on May 23, 202. A retired rodeo legend risks it all to save his grandson. Facing his own painful past and the fears of his family, he enters a high-stakes bull-riding competition as the oldest contestant ever.
