EXCLUSIVE: USA Network‘s new series Anna Pigeon has added Jordan Sledz (Heartland), Crystle Lightning (Ghosts) and Nikki Hallow (High School) to its recurring cast for Season 1. Production is currently underway in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
The trio joins the previously announced series lead, Tracy Spiridakos, and series regular Ronnie Rowe Jr.
Anna Pigeon (Spiridakos) is a former city slicker who became a park ranger after a devastating loss changed the trajectory of her life forever. While Anna tries to outrun her demons, her focus turns to solving crimes that have taken place within national park grounds, no matter who or what gets in her way. The series is based on the novels by Nevada Barr.
Sledz will play Zach Redhill, a classically trained actor and a love interest from Anna’s past; Lightning as Frieda Dierkz, the dispatcher and backbone of the park, who makes it her business to know everyone else’s business; Hallow will play Christina Clark, an admin at the Park and a single mother going through a difficult divorce who takes special pride in caring for the rangers.
This is the second new scripted series from USA Network, following The Rainmaker, starring John Slattery, premiering on August 15. The Rainmaker marked the network’s first new scripted series in a while as part of a planned relaunch as a destination for scripted originals.
Lea Thompson directs and executive produces the 10-episode season alongside Brebner, Todd Berger, Brett Burlock, Sonia Hosko, Julie Di Cresce, Peter Emerson, Gordon Gilbertson, Tom Cox and Jordy Randall. Leslie Cowan is producing. Produced by Cineflix Studios, December Films and Seven24 Films. Cineflix Rights is the exclusive worldwide distribution partner. In Canada, Anna Pigeon is Bell Media’s first co-commission with Versant’s USA Network.
