Arsenal midfielder Christian Norgaard has sent a message to Mikel Arteta during the recent international break after struggling to break into the first team at the Emirates Stadium.
The Gunners won their final two Premier League games before the international break, overcoming a five-point deficit and moving past Liverpool into the lead.
Norgaard has not played as much football as he had hoped for Arsenal since joining North London from Brentford in the summer transfer window.
The defensive midfielder is yet to make an appearance in the Premier League for Arsenal, with only two appearances in the League Cup and Champions League.
Norgaard played in two games against Denmark during the international break, most notably the 3-1 win against Greece in which he returned to manager Brian Riemer’s starting XI.
After Denmark’s victory, Norgaard told Viaplay:

“There is nothing better than walking into a stadium here and watching an international game with a full crowd singing the national anthem.
“I had a big smile on my face and almost my whole family was here watching, so it was a great night for me.”
Arsenal return to Premier League action at the weekend to take on Fulham, and Norgaard hopes his international form will convince Arteta that he is suitable for a role in the Gunners team.
Norgaard added: “For me it is also important to get this time to show the club that we can get through this game.
“If I think about the few minutes I played for Arsenal, I don’t think there were any flaws or twitches or anything.
“I hope my coach will stay at home and see if I can handle it physically.”

Asked if he was ready to play more for Arsenal, Norgaard replied: “I hope so, but only time will tell. We have a lot of talented players.”
“The player I play against (Martin Zvimendi) is struggling (I said that jokingly)! He recently played for Spain in Denmark and did a great job.
“We have a lot of games, so of course we hope there will be a little bit of rotation.
“Not only the Premier League, but also the Carabao Cup and the Champions League, so of course I hope he will also look in my direction so that I can be in a better position for the next international matches.”
The Arsenal midfielder claimed in an interview last week that the Gunners would be his last team overseas before returning to Brondby in Denmark.
“I can guarantee that Arsenal will be my last club abroad,” said Norgaard.
“When my contract with Arsenal expires, I still want to return to Brondby. My contract is for two years, with an option for a further year.”
Norgaard added: “I would be happy to stay at Arsenal for another year if the situation develops in that direction.”
“If it turns out that the match doesn’t work out, I’ll probably go back to Denmark in two years.”
