Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta has revealed four reasons for the move the Premier League giants will sign Piero Hincapie on the deadline.
Gunner has been very active during his transfer this summer. This is because he has signed eight signatures since finishing second in the Premier League for three consecutive seasons.
Arsenal is looking to close the gap with Liverpool’s champions, but Arne Slot’s side is Europe’s biggest spender this season before landing Alexander Isaac on a record price.
Still, Arsenal had a previous transfer window that landed Kepa Alizabaraga, Martin Zubimendi, Christian Norgado, Christian Mosquera, Noni Madue, Victor Gyoker and Ebebeki Eze.
Eze was expected to be Arsenal’s final marquee signature in the window this summer, but they decided to make a surprise move for Hincapy after deciding to leave Bayer Lebaxen amid an ongoing crisis.
Spurs initially moved to the front of the queue to sign Hincapie, but Arsenal hijacked the contract and completed the loan transaction with the purchase obligation on the deadline.
Speaking about Hincapy’s move to Arsenal, Arteta unveiled the four reasons behind the club’s decision to target centre-backs who can also play at left-back.
