Arsenal are currently leading Premier League rivals Man United in the race to sign Borussia Dortmund forward Karim Adeyemi, according to reports.
The Gunners made a big investment over the summer, bringing eight new players to the Emirates Stadium at a cost of more than £250m.
Arsenal currently have two quality players in most positions, making their team one of the best in the Premier League.
However, the Gunners are still looking to further strengthen their squad, with rumors suggesting they could add another central midfielder as early as Friday.
And now our friends at TEAMtalk claim that Arsenal could sign a new attacker in the January transfer window, with Dortmund’s Adeyemi in their sights.
Adeyemi has been in and out of Dortmund’s squad since moving to Germany from RB Salzburg in 2022, with the 23-year-old often playing as a right-winger, centre-forward or attacking midfielder.

The Germany international has caused controversy in recent weeks after he threw a drink bottle into the dugout while replacing Niko Kovac in a recent game against Cologne.
Regarding the incident, Kovacs told reporters: “I think it’s unnecessary. It’s okay for him to get angry sometimes, but it’s unnecessary. He’s an adult.”
German newspaper Bild reported earlier this week that the relationship between player and manager was “strained” and that Man United had “entered the fray” in an attempt to take advantage of the situation.
It is claimed that the appointment of Jorge Mendes as the Germany international’s new agent “adds further urgency to the situation” as the Bundesliga side “recognize that Adeyemi’s future at Dortmund could become an issue sooner than many would like” if Manchester United show serious interest.

Now, TEAMtalk claims that Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta sees Adeyemi as the “ideal right-wing upgrade” for Reiss Nelson as he looks to score more goals and provide more assists from attacking areas.
It is understood Dortmund will not accept a transfer fee of less than £62m for Adeyemi in January, but the website claims interest from Man United “remains intense”.
Arsenal’s transfer success rate over the summer was good, with the signing of Martin Zvimendi, hailed by former Gunners defender Filip Senderos as the best player of the summer.
Senderos told AceOdds.com: “All the new players have had an impact, but for me the one who has had the most impact is Zvimendi. He’s really helped the midfield and the balance of the team. He’s allowed Declan Rice to run a little more freely and that’s what I like about Declan Rice.”
“He doesn’t like to sit and Zvimendi is that type of player. He’s aggressive and can move the ball very smartly. He’s a great signing for Arsenal and he’s added a lot to the team.”
“If you want to compete you need a big team and Eze will definitely have more highlights and his best moments this season. Martin Odegaard’s injury definitely didn’t help him and Arsenal because we know how important Odegaard is. He provokes pressing and movement up front, but Eze has done a good job of finding spaces and we’ll see more of him.”
“I think Gokeres’ movement was impressive. He will continue to run like this and move like this. Being number nine at Arsenal is not easy because it comes with a lot of responsibility, but we will see a lot of goals from him. He will earn his services. But of course it will take time to adapt to the Premier League. He will still have to find his place, but we have already seen some important goals and he seems to fit in very well with the rest of the team.”
