Zoom in on this: We have a date for the 2026 ASC Awards.
The American Society of Cinematographers has revealed the timeline for its 40th anniversary honors, setting the ceremony for March 8 — a week before the Oscars — at The Beverly Hilton.
Nominations for all categories — spanning feature films, episodic TV, documentaries and music videos — will be announced January 8. See the full timeline below.
The livestreamed ASC Awards recognize the exceptional artistry and craftsmanship of directors of photography who elevate the language of visual storytelling. Its career honorees are TBA.
Last year, the ASC handed its marquee Theatrical Feature Film prize to Edward Lachman for Maria, but he lost out to The Brutalist‘s Lol Crawley for the Best Cinematography Oscar. Winners on the TV side included the lensers for Shōgun, Ripley and Sugar.
As we look ahead to the fall film festival trifecta of Telluride, Toronto and Venice, this year’s awards season will wrap with the 98th Academy Awards on March 15 from the Dolby Theater in Hollywood.
