The Ashley Simpson show alum reflects the fierce public backlash she received after catching Lip Sync on Saturday night’s live show in 2004’s “Peace of Me” (which she was already singing).
“I think it’s a different era,” Ashley reflected on the August 21 episode of Pod Meat World. “I think bullying was insane during that time.”
The 40-year-old continues to explain how the controversy has affected her over the past 20 years, making her feel like she has to always explain herself.
“But then, in my life, I had to tell people, ‘Oh, but I play every night,'” Ashley shared. “My fans know. I had to know that in my mind.”
And the habit itself asked her, “What am I trying to tell people?”
