Dimitar Berbatov has issued a warning to Manchester United legend Gary Neville after he urged him to be more comfortable signing Benjamin Sesco in the summer.
Sesco was one of Man United’s summer signings when the Red Devils fended off competition from Arsenal and Newcastle United to sign him from RB Leipzig for around £74 million.
Man United have settled on signing their desired striker after missing out on Victor Gokeres and Liam Delap, who joined Arsenal and Chelsea respectively.
Sesco, 22, was integrated into the team by Amorim following his move to Old Trafford and made an instant impression, but Neville remains unimpressed with Man United’s new striker.
Neville slammed Sesco after Manchester United drew 2-2 with Nottingham Forest last weekend, insisting the “awkward” forward has been “doing well” this season.

Now, Berbatov hit back at Neville who should have been more “constructive” with his comments about Sesco.
“Everyone can criticize through social media and television. I don’t care how great you think you are. Constantly repeated harsh criticism can get to you,” Berbatov said in an interview with Metro.
“It can affect your game, it can affect your mood, it can affect your confidence, because we’re all human.
“Of course I can easily criticize the striker, the team, the players, the coach, etc. But we need to look for criticism that is constructive, that gives us something special, that makes us think and say, ‘Wait a minute, he or she has a point.’
“Of course, some former footballers have more right to criticize than others. That’s why I think Gary Neville is in a better position to voice and express more criticism based on his career at United, what he achieved, what he won and his time at United.”
“In my case, I think I try to be constructive with my opinions, look more at the positive side of things and express what I expect from my players. Sesco has had a slow start, but let’s hope he’s ready to make the leap and can provide the necessary goals that United’s number nine needs.”

Berbatov also explained why he thinks Sesko “has it all.”
“He has everything a striker should have,” Berbatov claimed.
“He’s tall, he’s athletic, he’s left-footed, he’s right-footed, he’s scored bangers in the Bundesliga, he’s had headers. But the Bundesliga is different to the Premier League. The Premier League is a completely different beast. The Bundesliga is different to the Premier League. The Premier League is a completely different beast.”
“Of course he depends on the services he gets from the players, so I’m saying get to know your teammates and how they’re playing.”
He added: “This is United, one of the biggest teams in the world. There’s always pressure, even when you’re sleeping. There’s always going to be pressure. So be patient. Sometimes a slow start means you’re ready to jump.”
