EXCLUSIVE: Nimesh Patel has signed with Range Media Partners.
Patel has risen the ranks to some of comedy’s biggest stages over the past few uears due to his unassailable joke-writing, prolific output, and innovative marketing. His new stand-up special Instant Karma will appear on Netflix April 1.
In the special, filmed at NYU’s Skirball Center, Patel dives deep into the experience of growing up as a first generation Indian American. Patel, the loveable outlaw of his family, breaks down his relationship with his traditional parents, the mischief he caused as a kid, and whether or not he’s become a better person now that he’s an adult (he hasn’t).
The special marks Patel’s first hour on Netflix following a much-lauded set on their standup series Verified Stand Up and several wildly popular independent specials. Over the past four years, Patel has toured more than 80 cities, with social media clips from his journey amassing hundreds of millions of views. He is also known for YouTube hours, including Thank You China, a nod to his ingenious use of TikTok to spread his standup, and Lucky Lefty, an hour about having testicular cancer “for three business days.”
In 2017, Patel became the first Indian American writer on NBC’s renowned Saturday Night Live, which scored him a Primetime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Writing for a Variety Series. That same year, Patel also wrote for Hasan Minhaj’s The White House Correspondents Dinner appearance, and the year prior, he wrote for Chris Rock’s hosting of The 2016 Academy Awards.

Also coming up for Patel is a new tour in Fall 2025.
