Manchester United are said to still be ‘pushing’ for the teenage striker, while Borussia Dortmund have also joined the race to sign him, according to Florian Plettenberg.
United’s attack has strengthened in recent days. After finishing 15th in the Premier League last season and having no players score double-digit goals, they added three expensive players to their front line.
Matheus Cunha, Benjamin Sesco and Brian Mbeumo all arrived, and the trio all made an impact, with Mbeumo in particular winning October’s Premier League Player of the Month award.
However, United chairman Sir Jim Ratcliffe is known to be keen to snap up some top talent before he does so, with Swedish teenager Kevin Filling also likely to be signed soon.
It was recently revealed that Filling could leave AIK in the winter amid growing interest from United, with a value of €3 million (about 260 million yen).
At the time, it was stated that some Bundesliga clubs were interested in signing the 16-year-old forward, who has scored two goals in nine games for AIK, in 2025.
Now, Plettenberg has named one of those teams in an update on Filling’s potential moves.
In X, he said that Sebastian Kehl wants to sign him and that Borussia Dortmund are currently in the race to sign him.
A source said United were “still working on” a striker but had not yet reached an agreement with any club.
It has been claimed that Filling could leave AIK as early as January, but it is not yet decided where he will end up.

But it’s clear Ratcliffe has a desire to sign players of his ilk. Filling broke out for Sweden’s Under-18s, scoring twice on his debut just a few months ago.
He already looks like a player who can do something in the game and is exactly the type of player Ratcliffe wanted when he first walked through the United gates.
He said: “What I would rather do is find the next Mbappé than spend a lot of money to buy success.
“It’s not that smart, is it? Buying Mbappé. In a sense. Anyone can understand that. But what’s more difficult is finding the next Mbappé, the next (Jude) Bellingham or the next Roy Keane.”
