According to reports, Chelsea are in “direct contact” with Real Madrid with the aim of signing Rodrygo in January or the summer.
The Blues spent more than £280m in the summer transfer window to give Enzo Maresca the tools to compete at the top end of the Premier League.
Chelsea defeated Wolves 3-0 on Saturday thanks to goals from Maro Gusto, João Pedro and Pedro Neto, and Maresca’s team took third place in the Premier League.
And Chelsea’s leaders are likely to back Maresca again in the transfer window, meaning they will be available for international duty in that position.
As January approaches, there are rumors that Chelsea are considering signing a new winger, with Real Madrid’s Rodrygo on their target list.
And now the trusted X account, made up of “five elite journalists” and 684,000 followers, claims that Chelsea are in talks with Real Madrid about signing the Brazilian as soon as possible.

The account writes: Exclusive. Chelsea have a direct deal with @realmadrid. The topic is Rodrigo. Chelsea intend to sign him in January or in the summer. Confirmed! ‘
This came a day after it was claimed in Spain that Real Madrid had “agreed to swap” Rodrygo for Liverpool attacking midfielder Florian Wirths in a shock transfer deal.
Former Chelsea captain John Terry praised Maresca’s team’s win against Wolves at the weekend, saying on social media: “Yesterday was a great win and a great result for the players.
“You were talking about the importance of these wins and these games before the international break and we delivered.
“Especially after dominating the first half like we did. If we hadn’t scored, we probably wouldn’t have taken our chances and lost the game. But in the second half we performed much better.”
“I love clean sheets, I love clean sheets. I can never get away from loving clean sheets.”

Regarding Alejandro Garnacho’s contribution during the match, Terry added: “I would also like to mention how wonderful Garnacho was yesterday.
“It’s really nerve-wracking as a defender to play against someone that fast and direct. He gives us things that other wingers don’t.”
“As a Chelsea fan, that’s what you want to see when players beat players, it doesn’t necessarily have to be highly skilled.
“When you’re that quick you can get past people and put crosses into the box and make it difficult for defenders. I’m happy with that.”
Chelsea will face Arsenal in the London derby in their third game back after the international break, but Terry seems more relaxed about the prospect of facing the Premier League leaders.
Terry continued: “Also, I said last week that I was a bit concerned about Arsenal’s clean sheet record.
“I felt a lot better this morning. Games are always unexpected. Of course I didn’t expect Sunderland to score twice yesterday, but I’m happy that we did.”
