Manchester United centre-back Matthijs de Ligt revealed he targeted two Liverpool stars during Sunday’s 2-1 win at Anfield.
The Red Devils achieved their most important win to date under head coach Ruben Amorim on Sunday afternoon.
After defeating Sunderland before the international break, Manchester United secured a 2-1 victory over Premier League holders Liverpool at Anfield. This is the first time that they have won consecutive league matches under coach Amorim.
United got off to a perfect start as Brian Mbeumo broke the deadlock within two minutes, before Kodi Gakpo equalized and Harry Maguire scored a late winner.
The result leaves Arne Slott’s Man United in crisis after losing their fourth consecutive match in all competitions, leaving them just two points behind Liverpool in the Premier League table.

Liverpool have problems all over the pitch as most of their key players are struggling, with one of their biggest problems being at full-back.
Milos Kerkes and Conor Bradley started against Man United and in his post-match speech De Ligt revealed they had been targeted by the Red Devils.
“We knew Liverpool had a weakness and that was the full-backs,” revealed De Ligt.
Meanwhile, Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has revealed his concerns about Slot’s full-back, saying his side are not “coping well” with the “current style of the Premier League”.
“If you look at the players Liverpool have brought in, the full-backs are very small and don’t have a big physical presence,” Carragher told Sky Sports.

“In terms of set-pieces, is the team big enough? They don’t seem to be able to deal with set-pieces very well and they seem to be struggling with the Premier League style at the moment.
“I don’t think it’s one obvious problem, it’s a lot of things. Some of the best players from last season weren’t at the same level and that’s not happening at all for Liverpool right now.”
“Last season they felt invincible, but now as soon as someone beats them they lose four games in a row. It’s like Manchester City last season. I couldn’t believe they were losing. It’s the same with Liverpool now.”
“They have to get out of this quickly, but we won’t see the best of Liverpool until the second half of the season. There’s a mentality sometimes that Liverpool don’t want to do the dirty work.”
“Liverpool are a much better team than Manchester United, so if Manchester United come to Anfield and win, they will be a little bit lucky with a late goal.
“Liverpool are not racing at all defensively and unless they fix that they can’t win the league.”
