Former Spurs boss Harry Rednap said it was a “stigma” to finish 17th place and that Angi Post Ecoglo would not “compare” with Mauricio Pockettino’s days at the club.
The Europa League is the highlight of what was otherwise a horrifying season for the North London club, and seeing them finish one spot above the relegation zone.
Post-Ecogul was given his march order despite winning the Spurs’ first trophy in 17 years, suggesting that Thomas Frank comes to his place and Redknap must do it.
“It’s a real disgrace to finish fourth from the bottom,” Redknapp told Betvictor Casino. “After finishing fourth, I lost my job. So he had every opportunity. We reached the end of the season. All of a sudden I left.
“This is a Cup competition where British teams should win every year.

Rednap also compared Post Coglu’s tenure with Pockettino with Argentina. The current boss of the US men’s team never won the trophy, but he played the Champions League final in 2019. Rednap thinks it’s more impressive than the Europa League victory.
“I don’t compare it to Pockettino’s achievements in reaching the Champions League final. Well, he didn’t win it and last year they won the trophy.
“But Pockettino will take his team to the Champions League finals because the manager is still a bigger achievement. It was harder to reach the Champions League final than winning that trophy. I’m happy to have the trophy, but it’s not the Champions League.”
During Rednap’s tenure from October 2008 to June 2012, he led the club to his first Champions League qualifiers since the tournament was rebranded.
His team’s best run in the tournament came in the 2010-11 season, when he headed the group, including Inter Milan before beating Milan in the 16th round. He was then knocked out by Real Madrid in the quarterfinals.
