Former Premier League defender and Sky Sports expert Jamie Carager believes Aston Villa has loaned Jadon Sancho from Manchester United to sign it.
Liverpool’s legendary Carragher has not seen Sancho’s appeal and evaluates him among United’s worst signatures that analytical villa advocates don’t want to hear before Unai Emery’s new signature debuts.
Carragher knows he picked up a decent distance of silverware in his career at Anfield, and when YouTubers said in overlap that Sancho was the worst signature Red Devils ever made, he didn’t restrain him.
The 47-year-old former England International gave Sancho both barrels.
“Sancho is interesting in Sancho because it gained a reputation from his time at Borussia Dortmund,” Karager said.
“I always come back, me and Gary (Neville) were in the air for the show and they asked us to choose an English team.
“We didn’t see Sancho play much. He was in Dortmund and he was really good in the Champions League and we didn’t let him in the team. I remember on social media. Everyone was in Sancho.”
After moving from Manchester City to West Pleasure Stadion as a young man, Sancho entered the scene with a string of goals and assists. He eventually won his place on a real England team and signed United at a reported fee in the £73 million region.
He had to go some to justify such spending, so he didn’t get close. If the retrospective analysis of the former Liverpool defender was any indication, Carragher and Neville weren’t too surprised.
“When we’re discussing the worst Manchester United signature, I don’t know if there’s a lot of abilities out there. He’s fine. I don’t know what he is,” Karager continued.
“I don’t know what Sancho is. Every player has something. I can’t think of what Sancho will do in my head.”

Sancho, now 25, was the deadline day for Emery and Villa, and needed an additional to play on the left side of the offense after Jacob Ramsey set out for Premier League rival Newcastle United.
His loan signing was followed quickly by the acquisition of Liverpool’s Harvey Elliott. He joined the villa on loan on Monday, obliged to buy after just 10 appearances.
Emery reveals that Sancho has the ability to be extracted this season. Carragher disagrees.
Sancho moved to Villa in anticipation of unlikely for Thomas Touchel’s England team, in time for the World Cup next summer.
The former Dortmund winger has won 23 senior international caps, but has not played for England since October 2001.
