Heartstopper will return for a conclusion to Charlie Spring’s (Joe Locke) and Nick Nelson’s (Kit Connor) love story.
The Netflix show’s last installment will be a film starring the dynamic duo, announced on the third anniversary of the first season’s premiere date, April 22, 2022.

The film wrapped production at the end of July 2025 with Joe Locke and author Alice Oseman posting about the farewell moment.

From the looks of the film’s clapboard, the movie is titled Heartstopper Forever.
Who is directing the Heartstopper movie?
Wash Westmoreland directed the film. Stars Locke and Connor also executive produced it alongside author Oseman, Lyn, Patrick Walters, Iain Canning and Emile Sherman who all executive producers on the first three seasons.
What will the Heartstopper movie be about?
Oseman wrote the film, which will draw from the sixth and final installment in the graphic novel series as well as the Nick and Charlie novella. The final chapter will open on the pair as inseparable as ever, but with Nick preparing to leave for university and Charlie finding new independence at school, the reality of a long-distance relationship begins to weigh on them.

What happened in Season 3 of Heartstopper?
In the Heartstopper Season 3 finale, Nick and Charlie reunited at a concert in which Charlie drummed for a band following Nick visiting colleges with their gal pals. Following Charlie’s struggle with OCD and an eating disorder, the pair strengthened their relationship, but Nick also had time away from his boyfriend to focus on himself. As college looms, the seeds were planted for the possibilities of Nick and Charlie staying together or possibly going their separate ways.
