EXCLUSIVE: MacArthur Park Entertainment has unveiled a first look at Armie Hammer and Rainey Qualley in John Bevilacqua’s neo-noir Night Driver and announced completion of principal photography in L.A.
Described as a throwback to classic car genre films of the ’70s but set in contemporary L.A., Night Driver stars Hammer as a man called Sonny who spends his nights driving around town making pickups and deliveries for people who prefer discretion.
Back home after serving tours in Afghanistan and Iraq, Sonny is haunted by the sights of war and suffers from PTSD. Juggling requests from his criminal boss, his girlfriend and his ex-wife, Sonny is simply trying to make it to the morning intact.
The film wrapped production in L.A. in June.

Hammer (The Social Network) and Qualley (Off the Record) are joined in the cast by Gabriel Mann (Revenge), Joely Fisher (Killing Winston Jones) Jere Burns (Justified), Brit Morgan (True Blood), Coby Connell (Cash), and Morgan Krantz (In the Dark).
Bevilacqua (Hollywood ’95) directs and also wrote the screenplay, while John Logsdon (Eric Clapton Unplugged…Over 30 Years Later) produced, with casting by Candice Bernstein and Miriam Hoffman.
“We’re thrilled with how Night Driver came together. Bevilacqua created this retrowave neo noir film with all the crazy characters and irreverence of a Tarantino world. Armie Hammer delivers an amazing performance in a role that was tailor made for him,” said Logsdon.
