Florian Wiltz is said to have been better with Bayern Munich after making Liverpool’s career difficult.
The German International has ensured that he moved from Bayer Leverkusen to the Allianz, but instead convinced him to move to Anfield, which he has struggled to make an impression in the Premier League up until now.
With Liverpool paying £116 million for the midfielder, there was all sorts of predictions that he would run to the ground, but he has not registered or supported goals in five league matches so far.
Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, currently a member of Bayern’s Board of Supervisors, said he should take part in German champions rather than British champions.
“I have to be honest. I’m sorry to Florian Wiltz yet because I think players are better off Bayern Munich than Liverpool,” he told German publication Welt.
Bayern executives have long believed, of course, that Wirtz would be better off going to them, but sports director Max Eberl said he was taking the price from the 22-year-old’s purchase in the summer.

“I don’t know if Liverpool is now able to pay the price they have to pay,” he told German newspaper SV. “It was clear that the whole club was clearly showing that the players were outstanding, and we could have imagined him moving to FC Bayern.
“Now, he decided differently despite the very good consultations. Everyone was at the table. But Florian wasn’t. That’s how the transfer market was.
“In the first step, you say: ‘Damn’.’ But one door opens.
Rummenigge also issued his verdict on another well-known Premier League summer transfer with Nick Woltemade’s Newcastle signature.
The former player said he wanted to sign a noble striker, but he couldn’t get involved in “all financial insanity.”
“We could have signed Woltemade,” Rummenigge said. “But FC Bayern recommends not going with any economic insanity. They always said they want the sport to be successful, but they want serious and solid funding.
“We have a first team. We’re back this year. If we have three currently injured players back soon, we’ll have a great team.”
