Stuart Pierce has one “worry” after Nottingham Forest plunders Nuno Espirito Santo and replaces him with former Tottenham Hotspur boss Angi Post Coglu.
Forest made this week a shocking decision to plunder Nuno despite the Portuguese taking them from relegated candidates to the Europa League in 18 months.
He floated the club in 2023/24, almost securing qualifying for the Champions League, but his form later in the season was disappointing.
Nuno recently said his relationship with forest owner Evangelos Marinakis was “different” from last season, and it was hardly suggested he would leave the club in the weeks leading up to his firing.
It felt inevitable, but it is still a ridiculous decision, and the decision that the faithfulness of the city’s ground is very upset.
Nuno’s alternative Postecoglou hasn’t met his supporters very optimistically after the 2024/25 Premier League campaign as Spurs head coach.

His methods, which focused on playing highlines known for his intense and offensive tactics and pushing across the pitch, become a major shift from Nuno’s more defensive and counterattack approach.
His theatrical style is a concern for club legend Pierce, but surprisingly, his “only” concern.
“The only thing that bothers me is Simon’s style of play,” Pierce told Simon Jordan on Talksport.
“I think there was a group of players here that went into the ditch and the style of play made them a successful counterattack.
“I think the two centre harvesters enjoy having people around them to have a little bit of coverage.
“If you’re playing vast and open, is it tailored to the forest in their way of fighting back? That’s my question mark for Ange.”
It’s an incredible change of pace for the forest squad prior to Saturday’s trip to Arsenal.
It’s very broad to say that it’s your “only worry” as everything is under the umbrella style of play.
You can also worry about Spurs’ domestic results last season, but you will always be back to the style of play adopted by Big Ange.
That style of play has resulted in a horrifying series of results after being discovered by other Premier League managers.
His first 10 games brought eight wins and two draws as the Spurs looked like a real title contender. However, from November 2023 to the end of 2024/25, the Spurs were one of the worst teams in the league.
During those dates, the Spurs played 66 Premier League matches, earning 23, drawing 9, losing 34, conceding 117 goals and earning 116.
They certainly entertained, but only for neutrality and rivalry. Spurs fans were baffled by their lack of adaptability and pure instability in their performance.
This is a 34.85% victory, but the Spurs lost 51.52% of their league games at that point.
Of the 17 clubs that played in the Premier League throughout that period, only Wolves had fewer points (78-76) and victory (23-22), but none of them had any more defeats. And only West Ham recognized more goals (117-119).
Yes, worrying about Post-Coglu’s “play style” is the tip of the iceberg. “The only thing that makes me worry” doesn’t start to cover it… mate.
