Frank Lampard feels he has a number of great aspects and has been approached by former assistant Jody Morris to become the next England manager.
Lampard has shown promise in a number of jobs during his managerial career so far. In his first job, he led Derby to the Championship play-offs, guided Chelsea, who had been under a transfer ban, to fourth place in the Premier League and prevented relegation at Everton.
As Coventry manager, he is having the best years of his career. After 50 games in charge, he averaged 1.86 points per game and scored 40 goals in 15 games, leaving him five points clear at the top of the Championship. So far this season, no other championship team has scored more than 26 points.
If this continues, he will be on his way to the Premier League, but Morris, Lampard’s former assistant who worked with him for 141 games at Derby and Chelsea, feels a job in England could beckon him.
Morris told Metro via GeckoPlay Casino: “That’s right. If you look at the English managers out there, Eddie Howe is the outstanding candidate. He’s been there for the last five or six years. But then you can’t help but think of Lampard. He can’t help but think of Lampard.”
“He’s already worked at his previous club, he’s English, he’s smart. I think he’ll accept it. He’s played at (international) level and knows what it takes.”
“He understands players very well. I think he will be a good fit for free agency. Whether he wants to follow[Thomas]Tuchel depends on how long he is in the job, I don’t know.”
“If Lampard has the kind of success he is on the way to at Coventry, then quite a few people will like what he has achieved.”

And Morris feels Lampard is doing a great job at Coventry after being passed over by many.
“But he’s proving himself now. If you look at what he did at Coventry, I don’t think there are many managers who have done a better job, not just in the Championship, but in any league.”
“The performances he got came from the individual players and the team as a whole. They were near the bottom of the league when he arrived but raced up.
“They managed to get into the play-offs and he continued that form this season with a great start. It’s not just the accumulation of points, it’s the football they are playing.”
“They’re a difficult team to beat, they score a lot of goals and they’re a fascinating team to watch. I thought they were better than Sunderland in both games (play-offs) (last season).”
“It shows how small the margins are. One mistake or a set piece can cost you. I was disappointed for him, but he’s doing a great job.”
