EXCLUSIVE: Netflix‘s six-episode comedy Free Bert, co-created by and starring comedian Bert Kreischer, has added three more in recurring roles: Matthew Del Negro (Neagley), Robert Mello (Killing It), and Braxton Alexander (The Righteous Gemstones).
Character details are under wraps. As previously announced, Arden Myrin also stars in the series, alongside newcomers Ava Ryan and Lilou Lang, with Mandell Maughan, Chris Witaske, Christine Horn, and Sophia Reid-Gantzert aboard as recurring.
Kreischer exec produces and stars as himself — shirtless comedian, party legend, perpetual wildcard — in Free Bert, where he finds himself in uncharted territory when his daughters are accepted to an elite Beverly Hills private school. When his unbridled antics turn his family into outcasts, he decides to “put on a shirt” and stifle his true nature to better fit in.
Jarrad Paul and Andrew Mogel (Huge in France, The Grinder) co-created the show alongside Kreischer, also exec producing and serving as writers, directors and showrunners. Other EPs include Kreischer’s wife, LeeAnn Kreischer; Tony Hernandez, Lilly Burns, and Elise Henderson for Counterpart Studios; and Judi Marmel.
Known for turns on shows like City on a Hill, Scandal, The Sopranos, and The West Wing, Del Negro has recently appeared in Peacock’s Long Bright River and Paramount+’s Mayor of Kingstown. Upcoming, he’ll be seen in Prime Video’s Reacher spin-off Neagley, Amazon MGM’s crime thriller Crime 101, and more. He is repped by Buchwald, Berwick & Kovacik, and Behr Abramson Levy Johnson.
Seen on shows like Sistas, Candy, Killing It and The Resident, along with films like The Beanie Bubble, Mello is repped by Atlanta Models and Talent.
Alexander’s recent credits include The Righteous Gemstones, The Summer I Turned Pretty, and Black Bird. He is repped by CESD, Privilege Talent, and Luber Roklin Entertainment.
