Singer Gloria Gaynor says marrying her ex was the “worst decision” she’s ever made
Gloria Gaynor survived what she called her biggest regret.
According to the singer of “I Will Survive,” former manager Linwood Simon included saying “I Do.”
“My marriage turned out to be a disaster,” 81-year-old Gloria told the Telegraph in an interview published on August 13th.
“I observed all his boundaries, but I didn’t set my own boundaries,” said Gloria, who had been married to a music executive for 26 years before her divorce in 2005.
In fact, Gloria explained that a key part of her childhood trauma had suppressed her relationship with her husband to ultimately divorce.
“My father said that wasn’t the basis of my problems throughout my life,” she said. “The father is where girls get a sense of self-worth. She understands what a man is like and what he should do for her and what he expects from her.”
