Gmail is rolling out a new “Purchase” tab that will provide users with a quick overview of upcoming package delivery, Google announced Thursday. This tab gives you access to all purchase-related emails in one place, even from past orders and shipments.
The Tech giant points out that Gmail still displays packages that are set to arrive within 24 hours above the user’s inbox. The new tab simply brings all your purchase information under one view.
This update builds on Gmail’s package tracking capabilities, first launched in 2022, allowing users to track upcoming package delivery directly from their inbox without having to go to the appropriate carrier website.

Google says the new features will be particularly useful during the holidays as PWC’s 2025 holiday outlook forecast will result in 39% of planned holiday gift spending over five days from Thanksgiving to Cyber Monday. The new tabs will help users track all these shipments in a more efficient way, Google says.
This feature is being deployed today on mobile and on the web to users around the world using personal Google accounts.
Google has also announced that it will update its promotional categories in Gmail to allow users to sort by “most relevant” promotional emails. The company says this will make it easier to see updates to deals from brands that people care about the most. Additionally, Gmail will tweak users for upcoming transactions and timely offers.
This update will be rolled out on mobile to users of personal Google accounts in the coming weeks.
