Google Meet finally has AI-powered makeup filters for those days when you don’t want to put on full makeup before a meeting. This new feature will help Google Meet compete with other video conferencing apps that already have virtual makeup capabilities, such as Microsoft Teams and Zoom.
Google Meet lets you choose from 12 makeup options. These can be found in the “Appearance” section under “Portrait Touchup”. The feature will be available starting in 2023 and offers users options such as skin smoothing, under-eye whitening, and eye whitening.

Notably, Google says that the virtual makeup will remain in place no matter how the user moves on the screen, making it look more realistic. So when a user takes a sip of coffee, the filter remains on their face instead of transferring to the mug.
Additionally, this feature is disabled by default and can be enabled by users before or during a video call. When you apply a makeup style, Google Meet remembers your choice for future meetings.
The new AI-powered feature began rolling out on mobile and web on October 8th.
