European leaders gather behind Ukraine ahead of Trump Putin’s meeting
A statement on Saturday, signed by the European Union president and leaders of France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Finland and the UK, highlighted the need for “fair and lasting peace” in Kiev, including “robust and reliable” security guarantees. In response, Ukrainian President Volodmia Zelenki thanked his European allies on Sunday’s X-Post.
Support came on Saturday after the White House confirmed that the US president was willing to give Putin to a one-on-one meeting. It raised fears that Kiev might be pressured to give up on the land or accept other curbs about its sovereignty.
White House officials who are not allowed to speak publicly on condition of anonymity told The Associated Press that Trump will remain open to a trilateral summit with Russian and Ukrainian leaders, but for now there is a bilateral meeting from Putin. Trump previously said he would meet with Putin, whether or not the Russian leader agreed to meet with Zelensky. read more.
Note:
Zelenskyy said on Saturday that Ukrainian officials had previously told the Associated Press that Kyiv would become accustomed to a peace agreement that effectively recognizes that it cannot militarily regain Ukraine’s lost territory. However, Zelensky on Saturday said that “Ukrainians will not give land to the occupyers” and argued that the land they officially conceded was out of the question.

Texas Legislature will try again to vote for Congressional Districts
Texas Republicans will try to reconvene the state legislature on Monday to vote to redraw the map of Congress in court by the party.
The Republican majority is trying to redraw the districts of five American homes in the U.S. in advancing Trump to avoid a mid-2018 replay. These elections hampered the president’s agenda and set up a new Democrat majority in the US home that each shot him twice.
Now, Democrat-controlled states, including California, New York and Illinois, are threatening to retaliate against Texas and Trump by proposing retaliation against him.
Texas Gov. Greg Abbott said he will call lawmakers over and over again until enough Democrats appear to reach the 100-member threshold needed to vote for the bill. Democratic leaders in other states have planned retaliatory plans for reconciliation if Abbott succeeds. read more.
Note:
Some of the Democrats who bolted out of Texas have appeared at news conferences such as the governor of California and Illinois.
