Arsenal has previously shown that there is “no trend” to meet Ebeki Eze’s release clause, as Crystal Palace’s “additional protective layer” has been revealed.
The gunners have already completed the signatures of Victor Gyoker, Martin Zubimendi, Noni Madueke, Christian Mosquera, Christian Norgado and Kepa Arizabaraga, but they hope to add at least one offensive player to their rank this summer to help them with the final push, finishing second in their final three seasons.
They are linked to Real Madrid’s Rodrigo, but Eze has emerged as their top target in recent weeks.
England International has a release clause of £608 million on its contract. Arsenal wanted the additional add-on to pay £60 million in “3 installments of £200 million” before the additional add-ons constituted a full release clause.
The independent report argued that “Eze’s preference is understood to be Arsenal if he leaves Selhurst Park, but sources close to the situation believe Liverpool is still energizing years of interest,” adding that “the club has not yet taken a concrete approach to Crystal Palace.”
However, the Guardian reported Wednesday that the Eagles had asked for “£35 million in advance” if the deal was made after Arsenal held its initial consultation with the palace over its deal with Eze.
Arsenal has been informed that more than half of Ebechi Eze’s release clause must be paid in advance to sign England, and has decided that Crystal Palace will not allow them to leave for less than a fee that could reach up to £67.5 million, including bonuses.

And now BBC’s Sami Mokbell claims that Arsenal “doesn’t show that it does not tend to cause forward release fees,” and the palace has a “additional layer of protection” as “the acquisition clause expires two weeks before the windows close.”
It will be added to the report:
“As things stand, Palace President Steve Parish hasn’t shown he hasn’t been open to negotiating a lower price. Rival clubs have ideas, but his stance may soften later in the window.
“Eze is understood to be very open to joining Arsenal.
“The attraction is clear and Arsenal is a contender for both the Premier League and Champions League next season.
“But that’s not to say Eze is eager to leave Selhurst Park.”
And that claim was previously backed up by soccer insiders:
“According to sources, the attacking midfielders are likely to push forward with their moves from Selhurst Park and are happy with the club as they remain in a strong position to block interest.”
