According to Gael Clichy, Arsenal settled in Viktor Gyokeres after giving up his interest in signing Alexander Isak with his interest in New Liverpool.
Gunner created a big splash in the summer transfer market as new sports directors Andrea Berta and Mikel Arteta brought eight new faces.
Kepa Arrizabalaga, Martin Zubimendi, Christian Norgaard, Noni Maduke, Cristhian Mosquera, Gyokeres, Eberechi Eze and Piero Hincapie all joined Arsenal in the summer.
There were rumours that Arsenal was also interested in signing Benjamin Sesco from RB Leipzig.
The gunners were rarely mentioned amid speculation that Isaac appears to be on a clear run to leave Newcastle and Liverpool to sign Swedish International.
Liverpool has sealed the £125 million deal until the deadline to seal the £125 million deal. This could rise to £130 million in price for reasons Arsenal hadn’t tried it out on the former Newcastle striker in the summer.

However, former Arsenal left back Chrissy claimed that the gunners “certainly wanted Isaac,” and the North Londoners settled in Gyoker after learning the asking price for Newcastle.
At Gyokeres, Clichy told Metro: “I think he’ll adapt. Is he the type of player that Arsenal fans wanted to see? Perhaps not. They’re happy with him and they’ll support him?”
“I don’t think he’s like the kind of player Arsenal is used to. I don’t think he’ll provide what he needs on the link-up side of the game. I think someone like Isaac would have been better suited, but he (gyokeres) would add something Arsenal didn’t have.
“If we see the players they bring, they’re going to use those lines, they’re going to use those wingers, they’re going to create one-on-one and put the ball in the box right away. I think we’ll see a new arsenal, an Arsenal, who’s looking at those situations better.”

Arsenal said Gyokeres would be better off signing than Isak for one reason, as three forwarding would make Gunners “new”
Chrissy added: “Does it always work? It’s not that easy, as we saw against Manchester United and Liverpool against top centre halfs. But I think the one thing that we can see this season is the increased freedom of the winger and box the balls in the box for a new signature.
“Arsenal certainly wanted Isaac, every team loved him. But it was down to someone who matched the price tag. I don’t think Arsenal is ready to do that. Football in 2025 is about who can spend the money.
